Exhibition 'Artisans in the garden'

I am very excited to announce that i was one of the few artist chosen to show my work in this years Exhibition at the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney :)
It is primarily 3d works of art from established and emerging artists and runs from the 8th - 16th of October. So pop on by and check out some of my new collections on display and all the other wonderfully talented artists. x

A little peek into my jewellery making process :)

So start with a sketch, not always as neat as this :) sometimes I don't need to sketch prior to making I just see where the metal wants to take me.

In this sketch it shows the length of the wire needed to produce all the little wired components that will be attached around the base of the earrings.Next step cutting and soldering...

This is what is looks like after creating each little wired component and soldering them onto the base which is saw pierced out. The very white look is what happens after pickling. So now it needs a good clean up....

This is after the cleaning stage, one earring has been hand hammered, formed and domed, the other is still flat..

Soldering the tops of the earrings that will eventually articulate from the base.

Right before the polishing and assembly stage..

FINISHED!!!!

I am donating These pieces with all proceeds of the sale going towards the flood relief. They will be sold at in.cube8r gallery in Mosman. I'll be working on Friday so come in and say hi and see what other beautiful goodies the other artists will be donating :)

For every dollar made today in both the Mosman, Sydney in.cube8r gallery which I work at and the Melbourne one, we will donate the same amount to the QLD flood appeal.
Not only are you helping the flood victims your helping support Australian artists by buying there gorgeous unique pieces of art. Donations can also be made at any major bank - every bit helps. Our thoughts are with you Queenslanders.
You can also see and purchase my jewellery in both stores and I work at the Sydney, Mosman gallery every Monday and Friday.

Beading Classes

Wanting to let everyone know that I will be teaching beading classes in January on the Northern beaches, Warriewood. Adults beginner to advanced classes and children's parties. Also towards the end of the Advanced beading class there will be a demonstration on some basic silversmithing techniques.
